farming everywhere because it made for more efficient harvesting and enabled double cropping
Double Cropping Because the Chinese population was thriving and growing, farmers needed to make sure that they could yield as many crops as possible. Double cropping allowed them to do this by planting one thing in every other row and beginning a new crop half way through the season in the remaining empty rows. (See image left) |
